Becoming a Staff Member for Audio Overflow

Hello, and thank you for your interest in becoming a staff member for Audio Overflow. Audio Overflow began as a personal blog of mine back in Spring 2006. I originally began reviewing music because I found that most music journalism is characterized by being too pretentious and out of touch with the average listener. For example, Pitchfork's review of Jet's Shine On will probably go down as one of the classiest reviews in journalistic history. Not only was it entirely self-absorbed, but it also provided no helpful information to a reader who might have actually wanted to know a little about the album.

Audio Overflow exists to provide the average reader with reviews and opinions that are universally helpful, and not self-gratifying. As a writer for Audio Overflow, your primary goal would be to provide the best content to readers while maintaining your integrity as a writer and music-listener. Additionally, as a writer for Audio Overflow, you will write about music that interests you.

Responsibilities of an Audio Overflow staff member include:

• Providing readers with quality content that would allow them to make informed decisions on current music.
• Actively promoting the site on various other sites such as, Myspace, Facebook, or message boards.
• Participating in, or contributing to, staff articles such as Lists, Music News, and Site News.

There is currently no way to provide payment to you for your services, should you be brought on as a staff member. Audio Overflow is a labor of love for myself, and should be for additional staff as well.
